Accounting giant Deloitte has been recognised as an equal opportunity leader for women by the Federal Government’s Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency for eleven successive years. The firm has picked up the awards because of its Inspiring Women program. Launched in 2004, Inspiring Women comprises a series of programs seeking to identify and support talented women in the organisation.

Specifically, Inspiring Women does this through several ways.

1. The business women of the year program, designed to identify talented women in the firm as early as possible.

2. Mentoring program: A mentor can be found for both men and women in Deloitte. It has to be said this is not mandatory, it’s only on request.

3. Structured development programs: The firm works alongside groups such as Chief Executive Women and has also created a career-resilience program working with career development agency Xplore for Success and a networking program working with well-known female directors.
